Welcome To Boston, Gagne 2.0

Source: Mets get 2 players for Wagner

Yes, Boston gave two players "to be named later" to the Mets for a reliever with a bad attitude and an 8.71 lifetime post-season ERA. Unbe-frickin-lievable.

Who wants to bet on the first game he blows for the Sox?

Ooh, Ooh, I get dibs on Sept. 25 at the Yankees ... or that just might be the biggest game he blows this year!

Blech...

What Theo couldn't find someone over 40 that he liked better? Ugh...

It's Gagne all over again...

What, you hvae something against over the hill relievers with sore arms? Personally, I hope Theo collects as many as he can. Think about it: now Tito can replace an ancient Wakefield with a merely old Wagner. AL hitters are, and they've started salivating like Pablov's dog already.

I wouldn't throw Wakefield in there. Knuckleballers defy the standard age scale. Look at Phil Niekro; he pitched with the Yankees in 1984-85 at the ages of 45 and 46. He went 32-20 in those two years and went to the All Star game in '84. Wakes still has a good year or two in him.

Of course, none of this changes the fact that Gagne 2.0 is going to be a bust.
